Installing
To download and execute the AVG Business Security installer as well as configure your preferred setup, follow the installation process as detailed in
Installing for Isolated Networks
In some instances, you may need to perform the installation on devices in an isolated/offline network. To ensure your devices are configured properly, see Setting Up Antivirus in Isolated Networks.
Activating and Managing Subscriptions
After you have installed AVG Business Security, you will need to activate the subscription you purchased by following the steps described in Managing Subscriptions. This article will also provide information on how to check the subscription's expiration date or the number of available/used seats, as well as how to free up subscription seats if needed.
Configuring Settings and Components
There are many components and settings that come along with AVG Business Security, and you can customize most of them to fit your particular business needs.
Configuring Components
From the client UI, you can enable/disable or install/uninstall the available AVG Business Security services, as well as access additional configuration options for each Active Protection component. To see which components are included in each subscription type and how to configure and manage them, refer to the Services Overview article.
Note that a business environment's needs differ from those of consumers. Therefore, certain components are not recommended for use in such a network even though they are available in AVG Business Security products. To see which components you should avoid, go to Recommended Components for Servers.
Configuring Exceptions
The settings available in the client UI also offer the option of excluding specified files, folders, or websites from being scanned by Antivirus (usually done to speed up scans and prevent false-positive detections). To add and configure antivirus exclusions (also called exceptions), see the instructions described in
Configuring Updates
From the client UI, you can set your device(s) to manually or automatically update the AVG Business Security program and virus definitions. For more information, refer to Configuring Update Settings.
Setting Up Antivirus Scans
AVG Business Security offers several kinds of scans, and they are all customizable. For instance, you can specify the types of files and programs that are scanned, adjust scan sensitivity and area, or enable automatic actions during scans. To see which scan types are available and how to configure and run them, go to Scanning Devices and Configuring Virus Scans.
There are many more features and options available in AVG Business Security. For more information, please see the rest of our Knowledge Base.
